BHUBANESWAR: As Covid-19 cases are spiking in different parts of the country, triggering fear of resurgence of the virus in the State, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday announced to set up two screening and testing camps at the City railway station for persons coming from other states.

Bhubaneswar: Around 9,000 healthcare workers will be administered with COVID-19 vaccine at six different sites in the state capital in the first phase of COVID -19 inoculation drive. India will start its COVID-19 vaccination from January 16 onwards.
Addressing mediapersons here Friday, Bhubaneswar Municipal Commissioner (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said, “The COVID-19 vaccine will be administered in six places among them are Capital Hospital, Unit-4 Urban Community Health Centre (CHC), KIIMS, SUM Hospital and AIIMS. Around 9,000 beneficiaries will be vaccinated with Covaxin in the first phase of vaccination drive in Bhubaneswar.” Incidentally Covaxin has been developed by Bharat Biotech.
Odisha is all set to start Covid-19 vaccinations at 161 centres across 30 districts on Saturday, officials said.A total of 16,100 healthcare workers would receive the Covid-vaccine on the first day of the drive.The state has received 4.08 lakh .
The civic body has identified five session sites/vaccinate centres at Capital Hospital, Unit-IV Community Health Centre, BMC Hospital at Old Town, SUM and KIMS Hospitals.
