Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], July 9 (ANI): With the distinction of the successful arrangement of world-class eco-retreat hubs in different places of Odisha, the government has now started the process for setting up year-round eco-cottages at selected destinations.
This was discussed in a high-level meeting on eco-tourism held in the virtual mode under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, a press release informed.
Considering States potential for year-round eco-retreat activities, Chief Secretary Mahapatra directed to design, develop and maintain the cottages on PPP mode with credible private partners having experience in the trade.

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], April 29 (ANI): In a step towards enhancing the cash return to the farmers and creation of subsidiary employment opportunities in the agricultural sector, the Odisha government on Wednesday started initiative of crop diversification in mega lift point ( MILP) ayacut areas of the state.
According to the state government, with due deliberation, the target was set to achieve non-paddy cultivation in 60 per cent of the MILP ayacut areas during the coming cropping seasons.
The state government s release said the action plan for the coming Kharif season towards this effect was discussed in a high-level meeting held on digital mode under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra wherein Secretary Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Suresh Kumar Vashishth outlined the issues

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], January 18 (ANI): The state-level Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) on Sunday has approved the annual action plan of 2021-22 with a total outlay of around Rs 903.39 crore.
The major activities included block plantation, assisted natural regeneration, bald hill plantation, regeneration of the bamboo forest, maintenance of previous year plantation, fodder and fruit-bearing plantation, bamboo culture, wildlife management, infrastructure development, capacity building research and evaluation.
Reviewing the progress made so far, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra on Sunday directed to increase green coverage on bald hills through plantation and regeneration activities during the year 2021-22.
