Yamhill County could become a 2nd Amendment sanctuary under a proposal commissioners will consider Thursday morning, Feb. 25.
New Commissioner Lindsay Berschauer proposed the ordinance on Friday, Feb. 19. A four-page ordinance will be discussed during the commissioners regular meeting, which begins online at 10 a.m. at zoom.us/j/92847709143, Webinar ID: 928 4770 9143. The ordinance is the final item on the agenda.
If approved, the ordinance would prohibit county resources from being used to enforce state or national gun control laws. It s part of a national movement by local jurisdictions to prevent infringement on gun ownership rights.
