BI touts improved services as part of Duterte legacy

(File photo) MANILA - The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday assured the fast and smooth entry of foreign dignitaries and visitors who will be attending the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in Manila on Thursday. Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said BI officers at the airport have already been instructed to extend port courtesies or expedited clearance to arriving visitors and facilitate their expeditious entry into the country. "We have already put in place the mechanisms and procedures to ensure that these foreign visitors are given priority in the conduct of immigration formalities upon their arrival at the airport," he said in a statement. Comelec enforces WFH in Manila offices ahead of BBM inauguration

MANILA - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will adopt a work-from-home scheme starting Tuesday in several offices in Manila amid road closures and heightened security measures for the inauguration rites of President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. In an advisory Monday, acting poll body spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the scheme which runs until Wednesday covers their main office in Intramuros, the Offices of the Regional Election Director for National Capital Region, Region 4A and Region 4B, and the Office of the Election Officer in the City of Manila. Immigration lookout order out for hit-and-run suspect

In a message to reporters on Tuesday, Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra also said a complaint has been filed before the Office of the City Prosecutor (OCP) in Mandaluyong City against the SUV driver for frustrated murder and violation of Article 275 of the Revised Penal Code on the abandonment of persons in danger.
