Cape May s new branch of the Cape May County Library system opened on Franklin Street Thursday, in a long-vacant, formerly segregated school, an $11 million, 18-month project, funded by the city, the Cape May County Library Commission and county government, along with a grant from the New Jersey State Library.

The Cape May County Park & Zoo received a $10,000 donation Friday, officials announced in a news release. The donation came from local electrical contractor Anthony Anzelone, who presented the check to County Commissioner Director Len Desiderio, Commissioner Andrew Bulakowski and Parks Director Edward Runyon to support future capital improvements at the zoo and park.
