No fewer than ninety-five intervention projects were on Thursday, inaugurated at Etinan, Nsit Ibom, and Nsit Ubium Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom by Governor Udom Emmanuel.Gov Emmanuel
The ceremonies which took place at three separate contact places including the Etinan Institute, for Etinan LGA, Government Primary School, Obo Ikot Ita for Nsit Ibom LGA and Commercial Secondary School, Ikot Ekpene Udo in Nsit Ubium LGA, featured the presentation of goodwill messages from the leaders of the benefitting communities as well as administrative heads of the affected institutions.

When in January 2021, Governor Udom Emmanuel promised to rejig the state’s economy with a #50 billion capital to create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and empower Akwa Ibom youth through inter-ministerial direct labour jobs, many thought it was a tale by moonlight. But not only was the economy rejig with funds, but the Governor ended up pumping in a whopping #55 billion recreating a state that has become a major construction site.
That’s not all. To further show his commitment to the empowerment of the middle class and youth, the Governor also injected #1 billion for the interministerial direct labour jobs meant to empower the grassroots who form the bulk of our rural dwellers.

Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Ogun State chapter has said eight teachers died during the first term holiday.
The chapter Chairman, Akeem Lasisi, confirmed the death of the teachers saying that their pupils and colleagues were shocked and sad to discover that the affected teachers did not resume like others and upon inquiries, they were told that the teachers died during the holiday.
He said what the union lost and suffered during the holiday had affected their psyche, adding: “We now discharge our duties amid fears and pains.”
He said the eight were just the ones the union officially documented, expressing fears that more may be discovered to have died when inventory is taken about public school teachers.
