Jul. 16 TILLY SWAMP For Mary Anders, the traffic along Highway 90 caused by the increase of new homes and residents there has become terrifying, and even life-threatening at times.
For Kurt Starks, Horry County and the South Carolina Department of Transportation have done a poor job at managing stormwater along Highway 90, causing part of his property to flood.
And for Ricky Gunter, the new subdivisions along the once-rural corridor aren t being built with large-enough stormwater retention ponds, worsening flooding in the area.

IRON MOUNTAIN Â Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signed legislation authorizing $37.8 million in Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grants that will support outdoor recreation projects throughout the state, including $2.13 million for the purchase of more than 4 miles of riverfront property on the Sturgeon River in eastern Dickinson County.
The Sturgeon River parcel is about 1.5 miles south of U.S. 2 and just west of County Road 569 in Waucedah Township. It includes whitewater rapids, waterfalls, granite cliffs and old growth forest. It will connect to more than 3,700 acres of state forest and provide numerous recreational activities, including kayaking, fishing, bird watching, hiking, and swimming, the Michigan Departmen

THE 100 Million Tree-Planting Campaign 2020-2025 for a greener Malaysia launched by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Jan 5 is the right direction towards a future of sustainability for the country in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement, and WWF-Malaysia applauds the government for it.
Forest restoration is one the initiatives identified in this campaign. Despite being challenging and expensive, forest restoration is immensely rewarding and fruitful, a fact which WWF-Malaysia can most certainly attest to. One need only look at Sabah to see the benefits of forest restoration.
