SEVIERVILLE â Many of the areaâs approximately 12 million annual tourists are likely unaware of the information gathered on them in two municipalities during their visit.
Sevier County is making plans to join the marketing arms of Gatlinburg and Sevierville in data collection for its tourism department.
County officials accepted bids until 10 a.m. today for real-time vacation rental data collection.
Sevier County Assistant Mayor Perrin Anderson said a budget has not yet been established for the project.
âNo, that is why we are putting out the bid,â he said.
Anderson explained the purpose of utilizing a service for collecting the data.
