Alamance County COVID 19 Update

While vaccine distribution has started among local healthcare workers, the latest figures posted to the Alamance County Health Department website Wednesday morning show the pandemic is more widespread than ever. There have been a total of 10,057 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Alamance County since March and 136 deaths. Figures made available on Monday indicates 670 new cases confirmed in the past week and seven new deaths. Two more deaths have been added as of Wednesday morning. The Health Department reported 919 individuals remain in isolation, while 8,886 have recovered, according to Monday figures. Fifty-six people were hospitalized for COVID-related care as of Monday.An average of 112 new cases has been reported per day in the last week, including 133 on Monday.

Alamance County COVID-19 Update

The Alamance County Health Department reported Dec. 15 there were a total of 9,269 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 127 deaths. Tuesday’s case count indicates 883 new cases confirmed in the past week and six new deaths. The Health Department reported 906 individuals remain in isolation, while 8,236 have recovered. Sixty-two people were hospitalized for COVID-related care as of Tuesday. An average of 110 new cases have been reported per day in the last week, including 88 on Tuesday. From the 9,269 confirmed cases, 17,317 close contacts have been identified. As of Tuesday, 15,550 of those close contacts had been released from isolation, while 1,767 remained quarantined. White residents (70 percent) and individuals between the ages of 20 and 39 (35 percent) remain the most affected by the virus.
