stuck somewhere warm. arthel: yeah! let s hope. if you re going to get stuck you hope it is somewhere warm. jackie, thank you. rick: right of the hunt is on for a gunman in alabama responsible for shooting inside of a mall on thanksgiving night. officers responded to the scene killed a man they thought was the suspect and now they say, that man they killed, did not pull the trigger. new details on this tragedy straightahead. plus, an associate of president trump s confidant roger stone says he is in a plea deal talk with robert mueller. what does this mean for the president and the ongoing russia pro? we speak to someone that knows a little bit about these things. a former special assistant to the u.s. attorney general and assistant watergate prosecutor coming up.
incoming minister says it s a short-term solution. what about u.s. lawmakers? how will this fly with them and does this impact the president trump s threat to shut down the government over funding for his wall? i think a lot of officials would be pleased with it. i think democrats and republicans say we should be working with mexico. we should try to come up with solutions. i am not, obviously, it is president trump s policy so there will be 11 democrats who outright oppose it no matter what it is. but you imagine of course the details, you measure it would be pretty well received. as for the wall, look, president trump think we ve seen this over the last few days, he is trying to make the case to get immediate funding for the wall. this is a lame-duck. republican congress where you have sort of the last best chance of getting this done. have republicans controlling the house in the senate.this could present the last chance before president trump s on reelection in 2020.
they move through u.s. courts and it comes as the president continues to press congress on getting portable funding and a spending bill. we re going to have a strong border. the southern border will be very strong. without borders you don t have a country. democrats want open borders and they want these people coming in. many of those people are criminals. i am not going to let the military be taken advantage of. rick: bryan llenas in west palm beach florida, not far from the president spending his weekend in mar-a-lago. in reaction yet from the white house to this asylum overhaul? reporter: good afternoon, rick. no reaction yet in this report from the washington post that says president trump and the newly elected president of mexico have come to an agreement on a plan called remain in mexico. no details have been sorted or finalized. details are still being sorted out and nothing has been signed
more necessary. because if asylum is so difficult and there is no prospect of catch and release and no making it into united states and until you actually granted asylum rather than waiting for asylum as we have currently, it could make illegal border crossings more enticing to people that want to come over. and so, this does not solve immigration. immigration is a complicated problem that has, in some ways, it may be unsolvable. in some ways but it does create a solution to a problem that the president has and i think it would be, it would show the nicest and mexico can work toward solutions in a way that i think we have not seen recently. arthel: no formal agreement has been signed yet. details to be hammered out. it is called the remain in mexico plan. you mentioned a second ago, there probably will be appeals.
