extremism. witnesses described this just horrific scene. take a look. i heard him shooting at people. then i saw three people laying down and i didn t have a phone on me. so i was just screaming for somebody to call the police, and and then, he came out. he put the gun to his head, to his chin. then, he dropped it and he took off his uh bulletproof vest. and then, he got on his hands and knees with his hands behind his back and they arrested him. it s shame because there is a lot of people in there. my daughter s best friend was in the bathroom hiding when it all heaped. she said she heard gunshots and she ran into the bathroom. she is scared for her life. i spoke to one of the workers on my way here. and she said that, you know, her family members are calling her and her co-workers and it was just, like, something out out of a war movie. just nonstop shooting. people running, screaming. the person was in tactical gear.
it was not reported? right. right. a lot of this activity happens on on message boards. i would describe them as fringe-message boards but they have a significant number of users and you kind of have to be a member of that club, member of that group, in order for any of it to make sense, to even be involved in those chats. what i think we have in this case, as we have seen sadly way too often, is a case of online radicalization where someone has their mind poisoned by lies on these message boards and then decides to take violent action as a result. um, it is a form of white-supremacy terrorism and unfortunately has been a wake-up call about it now for several years because of what happened in christchurch and el paso, and elsewhere. these kind of manifestos don t spread on facebook normally, they don t spread on twitter but they do show up in the darker corners of the internet. and how you handle those very, dark, ugly corners of the
