With the ongoing success of the Marvel and DC movie franchises, Sunday’s Comic Fest at Cairns City Library has a morning of free activities dedicated to all things comic and cosplay. Councillor Cathy Zeiger said that Comic Fest demonstrated the diversity of literature and activities available at Cairns Libraries. “Modern libraries are so much more than aisles of books,” Cr Zeiger said. “Across our Cairns Libraries branches, we have a great range of comic books and graphic novels available to suit readers from primary school age and up.

Breakdance with Olympic prospects Kearny Mesa/Old Town Breakdancing will be an official sport at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, and local b-girls and b-boys have been practicing breakdance maneuvers in hopes of repping Team USA.
