i don t think most people trace jared s involvement in the comey matter. because absent the comey matter, jeff sessions is still called mr. attorney general, there s no mueller and this is a different presidency. entirely correct. i think this is probably the biggest revelation of the book actually. at the time when the president fired james comey, it was reported that jared kushner had just supported the decision. that s not what my reporting shows. and what actually happened is that jared, as you say, realized that the press had learned that he had these meetings with russian ambassador, russian banker connected to the kremlin and hey had not put them on his security clearance form. and very uncharacteristicly he
inspector general s report, and the next i.g. report, which we ll go to what happened with russia. i agree with that, bill, and the point is, he was overseeing both of these investigations simultaneously. so even though we knew that hillary clinton exhibited negligence, exhibited really no care in terms of her emails and what was so important in those emails, she was emailing from russia to the president. even though we know that there were mixed deeds in that email investigation, they kept glossing it over. but what s happening here, the comey matter is water under the bridge. you can t go back and change that. he has prosecutorial discretion over the decisions he made. the hillary clinton email matter, that s water under the bridge too. she s going to argue he threw the election but there s nothing you can do to go back in time to change or effect those decisions. the thing that matters now is what was struck doing in terms of the guidance and direction he was giving the rest of
a lot of people do think that taxation is theft or have problems pretty close. tax day. takes until april 19th this year. you work for the government for april 19th. the president can tout his tax refo reform. i don t think it s a good idea for him to further engage in the comey matter. i think james comey is doing enough damage to himself and his own credibility by the things he s saying and the way he s what did you think of the tweet storm by the president? he s never one to leave a charge unanswered, right? he will attack anybody that is critical of him. when you look at the percentage of media outlets that have been negative since the start of his presidency, is there some right to what he s thinking in terms of his method about getting that message out? sure. i understand what he s thinking. i don t think it s the most effective way to do it. we re about to see the president of the united states. he s headed to bucky dent park
about a senior counsel, james baker and what may have been a connection to the trump dossier. where is the inspector general in this? how does this and how does congressional oversight get into play here? trey gowdy, he took over after i left and the inspects general report up on a jurisdictional basis through the oversight committee. michael horowitz is the inspector general at the department of justice for 150 employees, a massive budget. they have been doing the investigation on the comey matter, the hillary clinton e-mail matter and now two publicly released news reports one in july saying that james baker, the senior most counsel there at the department of justice, was being looked at for releasing classified information to a journalist and just today as you said, it popped that he has been reassigned.
