Amherst Exempted Village Schools has received word that it will be receiving a $16,000 donation for its developing Comets Live live-streaming program.
Superintendent Steve Sayers said during a recent School Board meeting that the district has yet to receive the money, but is anticipating it will be sent soon and will be up for a formal approval at the next board meeting in January.
He said the district s IT department applied for a grant through GPD Foundation, an off-shoot of architect GPD Group that worked on the Powers Elementary School construction, and recently received funding.

With the live-stream programming being developed over the past few months, Sayers said the donation is a great way to get this program started.
