cnn has learned bryan kohberger, the suspect charged with murdering four university of idaho students, was with his father as he drove cross-country from washington state to pennsylvania before the holidays. police began tracking them at some point during the trip. the four students were stabbed to death in their beds in november. kohberger is charged with four counts of murder in the first degree as well as felony burglary. cnn s jean casarez is in pennsylvania. jean, what else are you learning? reporter: we re learning a little bit more about that trip and we do want to say there is nothing we have learned that his father knew anything about what was happening allegedly with his son in idaho. it s a long drive from idaho, washington, here to pennsylvania. so common sense would say that sometimes it s better to have two people. we do understand that his father flew to the west coast, met his son. it was because it was the holidays. the doctoral courses, school was out. he
