The Presidency on Thursday published a checklist of its security achievements to date, ahead of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day scheduled for Friday.
“January 15 every year is commemorated as Armed Forces Remembrance Day,” spokesman Femi Adesina said in a statement.
“As the milestone is marked this year, it also provides ample opportunity to chronicle current landmark achievements by our military in tackling security challenges in the land, towards fulfilling the constitutional requirement of Government guaranteeing the protection of lives and property.
Listed among the achievements were the restoration of some sanity in Borno State post-2015, the weakening of Boko Haram, the decimation of thousands of insurgents, and the purchase of new equipment for the military.
