Large parts of south east London are still shrouded in black, which indicates an infection rate of over 800 per 100,000 people. Infection rates remain highest in Bexley, which has a current average rate of 1126.5 infections per 100,000 people, the 13th worst in the country. A number of individuals wards Lewisham and Greenwich have also registered infection rates above 1,500 per 100,000 people for the first time. The map displays weekly data from March when the pandemic began. The latest data is for the week leading up to January 8. It shows the rate of infection in each area and where positive cases have been confirmed in recent days.
