Caamp is looking forward and backward.
The folk-rock band, formed in Athens and now based in Columbus, will be streaming a concert tonight celebrating the fifth anniversary of the release of the band s self-titled first album.
“Last week, we were sitting around rehearsing, unplugged, and I know this sounds cheesy, but I almost cried at one point. I mean, this is how we started, before we did the album, Taylor and I just sitting around in his attic in Athens,” said Evan Westfall, 27, speaking by phone from his home in north Clintonville.
Back then, Caamp was a two-person band, with Westfall on banjo and Taylor Meier on guitar. The two were friends in high school in Upper Arlington, and played in a band together then.
