Two tractor-trailers and multiple other vehicles were involved in a crash Thursday afternoon that temporarily closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 71 just south of Polaris Parkway.
The State Highway Patrol responded around 2:30 p.m. when the crash was reported. Multiple people were injured, including a couple people transported to one or more hospitals, but dispatchers were not able to provide an exact number of people injured or the severity of their injures.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area while cleanup continues, but state patrol said that at least one lane is now open and traffic is flowing again.
Teen killed Sunday in shooting on Columbus North Side
A 14-year-old died Sunday afternoon at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital after being shot on the North Side.
According to Columbus police, Dayvion Jones, 14, was shot around 4 p.m. Sunday on the 5300 block of Hazelwood Road.
Police said Jones was walking in the area when he was approached and confronted by a group of males in a SUV that was later determined to be stolen. One of the people in the SUV shot Jones.
The SUV then fled and crashed near the intersection of Tamarack Boulevard and Forest Village Lane. The occupants then fled on foot, police said.
