In the summer of 2023, the Columbia Museum of Art hosts the exhibit “Resurgence and Renaissance: Art of the Catawba Nation Since 1973.” Building on the 1973 exhibit “Catawba Indian Trade Pottery of the Historic Period,” this exhibit revisits the original show and sale and highlights Catawba artists of the past 50 years. It s safe to say very few will have a greater anticipation of what artistic delights the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts will hold than Catherine Walworth even as she helped select a significant portion of what visitors will see when the museum s doors open. Walworth came aboard the museum as the Jackye and Curtis Finch, Jr., Curator of Drawings in 2022.
