2019年2月22日凌晨，邱孟的出租车载上了一对男女。在车上，男子一直对女子动手动脚，到了目的地，两个人推推搡搡下了车。邱孟警觉了起来。他没有马上掉头离开，而是把车停在一边，观察两人的去向。只见男子拉着女子进了一条小弄堂。
邱孟越想越不对劲，下车朝着两人消失的方向寻去。随后，他听到女子的求救声，跑过去发现刚才乘车的女子正坐在一摊积水里反抗那名男子的骚扰。邱孟果断上前喝止，该男子逃跑后最终被警方抓获。
一个多月后，这位司机再次伸出援手，挽救了一名醉酒后跳入湖水的男子的生命。
邱孟曾是一名军人，2013年退伍回到江阴，这位普普通通的出租车司机，已经将责任和担当化成一种习惯。（宋超）
