Number of suspected overdoses skyrockets in Columbia County

Created: April 27, 2021 06:52 AM Health officials in Columbia County say the number of suspected overdoses in the county has gone up significantly in the past few weeks. According to the Columbia County Department of Health, there have been 36 suspected overdoses in the county from January 1 to April 23, 2021. That is compared to 22 for the same period in 2020. The total includes 31 non-fatal overdoses this year, and five deaths from overdoses. Health officials say the uptick is connected to the pandemic and the disruption of normal services with the health and human agencies.
