Engaged couple Megan Pierson and Dylan Coney, 26, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, went viral on TikTok after mailing their misprinted wedding invitations to local brands, fast food chains like Chik-Fil-A and Starbuck, sports teams such as the Toronto Blue Jays and celebrities like Johnny Depp, 60, Dolly Parton, 77, and Justin Bieber, 29.
MEDICINE HAT, AB – A small ceremony was held at the Medicine Hat Memorial Arboretum on Scholten Hill today.
Locals came to honour the National Day of Mourning. A yearly day dedicated to honouring and paying respects to those who have lost their lives, been injured, or became ill due to work-related incidents.
Members of the Regional Safety Committee gathered for a moment of silence.
John Digman from the Medicine Hat Construction Association says it is important to remember those we have lost.
He’s an ice cream maker for Camp Ice Cream in Medicine Hat.
“I’ve always wanted to be in the food business serving people in that way,” Durksen said. “I think it’s a really great opportunity because people need to eat, people need to eat well and this is just one step in the process for that.”
Camp Ice Cream partners with local farmers, breweries, and coffee shops to help make their creations come to life with local ingredients.
“I think that’s what makes the ice cream that much more special,” Durksen added. “It’s not just preservatives and chemicals in a box, it’s fresh ingredients that we can play with a lot.”
