Four Colorado State University agriculture leaders are being honored by the Denver Business Journal and the Colorado Farm Bureau for their innovative work within the industry.
The Pueblo County commissioners approved using $600,000 in marijuana excise tax funds to honor a longtime beneficiary of the Colorado 4-H and FFA community through the State Fair Junior Livestock Sale during a late February meeting.
For decades Sam Brown and his family have set record sale prices on various animals sold by 4-H exhibitors at the annual Colorado State Fair. This year, that generosity has been noted through a wall of honor to be installed at Gate 5, located on Prairie Avenue, with Brown s name to be the first to grace its surface. For me, it was important to recognize someone who s done a tremendous amount of work, not only at the fair, but in the community, said Commissioner Chris Wiseman during the Feb. 25 Pueblo County Commissioner s meeting.
