From Tin Pan Alley Cats to the Great White Way – Jewish Composers of the American Musical.” The series will begin on Sunday, January 3 at
7:30 pm on Zoom and will continue monthly through June.
Jewish composers have had a profound impact on Broadway since the earliest days of the American Musical. In this series we will examine the earliest roots of musical theatre and the composers of Tin Pan Alley, and the continued importance Jewish composers have had on the art form, from the days of “Show Boat” all the way to “Come From Away.”
The fifth program of the Colorado Hebrew Chorale’s monthly series,
L’Chaim – A Taste of Jewish Music from – Anywhere! will be held Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, 7:30 pm, the 5th night of Chanukah. Attendees will treated to a unique taste of Chanukah music from Israel by Leah Peer, founder and director of the Chorale’s women’s choir, Kol Nashim.

Leah spent most of her formative years in Israel. She holds an M. Mus degree in piano performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, and a B.Mus in piano performance from the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem. She has been an active performing pianist for nearly forty years. She also established a choral and general music program at the Kadimah School of Buffalo, NY and served as assistant director with Amherst Bel Canto select choirs.
