There were tearful reunions and ‘tales of bravery and gaiety’ as crowds of relatives, friends and well-wishers greeted the crew of the battle-scarred fighting ship, HMAS Sydney.

Cheers and coo-ees rang across the Harbour yesterday when Sydney welcomed home again the famous fighting ship that bears her name.
