COVID fatalities in Sri Lanka rises to 525 with 05 confirmed deaths on Friday (12) COVID fatalities in Sri Lanka rises to 525 with 05 confirmed deaths on Friday (12) Written by Share: Colombo (News 1st); The Director General of Health Services confirmed five (05) deaths caused by Covid-19 virus infection on Friday (12) . Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 525.   The deceased is a Akkareipattu . She was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 virus and transferred from Base Hospital Akkareipattu to Base Hospital Mulleriyawa. From there she was transferred to IDH Hospital where she died on 11.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as shock due to blood poisoning, respiratory tract infection, Covid pneumonia and acute kidney infection.

Posted on March 12th, 2021 Courtesy Adaderana Five more COVID-related fatalities have been reported in Sri Lanka, Director General of Health Services confirmed today (March 12). The new development has pushed the death toll from the virus to 525. According to the Government Information Department, four of the death were reported in Western Province while the remaining death was from Eastern Province. One of the deceased is a 72-year-old female from Akkaraipattu in Eastern Province. She was transferred from Akkaraipattu Base Hospital to Mulleriyawa Base Hospital after being diagnosed with novel coronavirus infection. She passed away on Thursday (March 11) due to shock caused by blood poisoning, respiratory tract infection, COVID pneumonia and acute kidney infection.

The new development has pushed the country’s death toll from the virus outbreak to 471, Department of Government Information said. Details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 56-year-old man from Kurunegala area – He was under medical care at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital at the time of his passing on Friday (February 26). COVID-19 infection and acute diabetes were recorded as the cause of death. 02. A 55-year-old man from Anuradhapura area – He has passed away at his home on Friday (February 26). The cause of death was recorded as acute complication in respiratory system due to COVID-19 infection.
