A HOSPITAL has offered “heartfelt apologies” to a 35-year-old woman with terminal cervical cancer for the failings in her care.
Eileen Rushe said after her case had been settled she had taken it to provide for her 14-year-old son Seamus.

As part of the settlement of her High Court damages claim against the HSE, a letter of apology to Eileen Rushe of Termonfeckin, Co Louth, was read to the High Court today.
She had claimed there was a failure to properly carefully and adequately assess or investigate her condition and a failure to give or procure any adequate or sufficient or timely treatment to her following her referral to the hospital for colposcopy in May 2017.

Christine told NewsTalk: I am taking a stand on my behalf. This is for me. I have to do what I have to do to pay my bills and that is what is important to me. I have to put food on the table. I have to pay my rent. All my bills have to be paid.
