Collins Pamba, man who helped ex-military officer dispose of kin bodies jailed for five years

[Mose Sammy, Standard] The High Court in Nyeri has sentenced Collins Pamba, the man who helped a former Kenya Defence Forces soldier dispose of the bodies of his wife and two children in Nanyuki to five years in jail. In her judgment on Thursday, Justice Florence Muchemi ruled that she was convinced that Pamba, had been acting under the instructions of former military officer Major Peter Mugure, the prime suspect in the three murders. Justice Muchemi noted that last year, in an affidavit, the investigating officer had said that Major Mugure had sent his sister Nancy Mugure to visit Pamba at Kerugoya Prison- to ask him to recant his confession.

Mugure settled at the decision after changing and dumping lawyers representing him three times including Cliff Ombeta, Kimani Njuguna and Kariuki Runo. [picture, Standard] Former Kenya Defence Forces (Kdf) officer Major Peter Mugure who is facing charges of killing his wife, daughter and son yesterday asked the court to allow him to represent himself. Mugure who is accused of murdering his ex-wife Joyce Syombua, 31 and her two children 10-year-old daughter Shanice Maua and son Prince Michael, 5, was appearing for the mention of his case before High Court Justice Florence Muchemi. Major Mugure used the mention to make two applications in the multiple murder case against him jointly with former Laikipia Airbase cook Collins Pamba for the murders allegedly committed on October 26, 2019 at the Laikipia Airbase in Nanyuki.
