Reporter the fire spread very quickly from the temple to two neighbors homes and i was told by the battalion chief that five cars burned in the huge fire. This is the oakland Cambodian Buddhist temple. And 11 people staying inside including four buddhist monks. They all managed to make it out safely. They have not pinpointed an exact cause but one thing investigators are look at is the possibility that maybe some lit candles set off the Early Morning fire. Oh gosh. Typically when we have wind advisories like this one theyre in the higher elevations. But we have these winds in the lower elevations. The winds are strongest right now in the east bay hills up above berkeley. Were looking for the wind to continue to be strong as we go through the evening hours. They should begin to get a little better. The strong northernly wind is going to begin to back up as we go into the next hour or so but theyre still running very, very strong. You can see the current wind speeds 29 Miles Per Hour. These are current numbers now. Sustained wind in fairfield at 29 is like a wind gust perhaps at 35 or 40.
