The incident occurred at around 9 p.m., according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Officer Collin Schlect, 24, was responding to a call that had been broadcast over police radio in his vehicle, a 2019 Ford Explorer, according to the news release. Schlect was exiting a parking lot when he struck Marlo Hunt-Beaubrun, 44, of Bismarck, who was walking in the lighted, marked crosswalk.

By Pat Sweeney Feb 25, 2021 8:37 PM A Bismarck police officer has been cited for driving through a crosswalk while on-duty and striking a pedestrian, who suffered minor injuries. Police say Officer Collin Schlect was responding to call that had been broadcast over the radio at 9:06 p.m. Friday when he drove into a parking lot to turn around. On the way out of the lot, his police SUV struck 44-year-old Marlo Hunt-Beaubrun while she was in a lighted, marked crosswalk. The 24-year-old Schlect was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The incident remains under investigation.

Bismarck Officer Charged After Failing to Yield to Pedestrian

BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Bismarck Police Officer is being charged after failing to yield for a pedestrian Wednesday night. The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports Officer Collin Schlect was responding to a call that had been broadcast over the radio. He turned into a parking lot and exited, striking 44 year-old Marlo Hunt-Beaubrun of Bismarck. She was transported to Sanford Medical Center by Metro Area Ambulance for Minor injuries.
