After the Washington University football team conceded a game-tying touchdown late in the first half, junior receiver Collin Goldberg stood at the ready to receive the kickoff from North Park University. Lined up behind his lead man, Goldberg caught the ball, found a lapse in the Vikings’ defensive coverage, blinked, and found himself in the end zone with a record-setting 97-yard touchdown return.
This Saturday, the Bears won their first home match of the season against Carthage with a scoreline of 38-7. With the win, the Bears improved their season record to 3-0. The main highlight of the game was Goldberg's record-setting 97-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
In the second game of the season, the Washington University football team dominated their first conference game with a 63-13 win against Millikin University. With the win, the team now boasts a 2-0 record to start the season. This game was dominated by WashU, much like the last two years have been, and gives the Bears a 4-1 record against Millikin in their five matchups.
