Years of work has seen a bus enthusiast piece together the history of Tycroes bus companies Rees & Williams and West Wales Motors for his latest book. Vernon Morgan began his research into the “friendly rivals” in 1997 when he was working on his first publication, ‘J James and Sons Ltd, Ammanford’, published in 2012. For the next eight years Vernon has continued with his research and the fascinating history has been produced in his latest publication, Rees & Williams Limited and West Wales Motors Limited ‘The Friendly Rivals’. The 253-page publication is illustrated with 350 photographs and memorabilia covering the period of operation and gives a succinct history of the businesses, together with the history of Peter Smith Bus Services at Garnswllt, which was absorbed by West Wales Motors.
