DVIDS - News - Selfless Service - Staff Sgt Joshua Williams receives President s Volunteer Service Award

41 MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va - “In my teenage years, I was a follower,” said Staff Sgt. Joshua Williams, a United Service Organizations (USO) volunteer and project officer with the College of Distance Education and Training, Marine Corps University, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. “The Marine Corps has served me well,” he continued. Williams was raised in a military household in Miami, Florida. He finds peace in serving others and his community, expecting nothing in return. He has selflessly given more than 455 hours of volunteer service to the USO. “I don’t volunteer to gain something for myself, I just do it to give back,” Williams said.

All prison inmates presented for 2020 BECE score 100%

Graphic Online BY: News Desk Report 30.5k Shares 705 All 25 inmates of the Senior Correctional Centre (SCC) presented for the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), have successfully passed. The Senior Correctional Centre (formally known as the Borstal Institute) is the only juvenile male facility in Ghana under the management of the Ghana Prisons Service. Twenty-one of them have secured placement in various Senior High/Technical schools across the country, with the remaining four pending placement. Out of the number, fourteen are still in custody while the remaining eleven have gone on discharge. In a related development, all three inmates of the Nsawam Medium Security Prison who sat for the NOV/DEC 2020 BECE have also passed with aggregates ranging from 10 to 14.
