During a time of coronavirus related disconnect, Kaylea Nocher ‘21 has been a catalyst for positivity and conversation amongst youth in Berkshire County.
Spencer Moser, Director of Civic and Community Engagement, put it briefly: “our only anger towards Kaylea is that we didn’t get to know her three years ago.”
Nocher, an education major, has been a stalwart of the campus Volunteer Center’s agenda because of her pen pal program called Berkshire Buddies.
Nocher created Berkshire Buddies in March of 2020 during the early stages of the pandemic. “I knew that social interactions for children were going to [decline]. They would be going to remote learning and wouldn’t be able to see their friends.” said Nocher.
