Topekans said they want more community policing efforts, higher police officer pay, “specialized units” and faster response times from the Topeka Police Department, according to a survey by the Strengthening Police and Community Partnership’s council.
The survey, which had more than 1,100 responses, asked Topekans dozens of questions to review their satisfaction with TPD and how it interacts with, and cares for, the community. Topekans who didn t fill out the survey may contact spcp@topeka.org to provide provide feedback or ideas.
Most questions have five categories to rank TPD, ranging from “not at all” satisfied, “somewhat” satisfied and satisfied “to a great extent.”
