CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio Latex innovations, sustainability issues and supply chain disruptions will be among the topics discussed at the 2021 International Latex Conference, which will be held virtually July 20-22.
The event, which is presented by
Rubber & Plastics News, will feature nine hour-long presentations: Innovations and Sustainability in Natural Rubber Latex The New Paradigm with William Doyle, Product Development Consultant, Vystar Corp.; Joseph John, Director, Polymer Consultancy Services Ltd.; John Heath, Director, Latex, Corrie MacColl Ltd.; and Ranjit Matthan, Director, Vystar Corp., 10 a.m., July 20

Keneth Gillen (right), retired from Sandia National Laboratories, receives the Melvin Mooney Distinguished Technology Award, from Russ Vogelsong of Lion Elastomers, which sponsored the award. Gillen was the only honoree able to attend the awards banquet in person.

Adel Halasa accepts the Charles Goodyear Medal in memory of Nissim Calderon, who died in February 2020. Halasa, the 1997 medalist, worked with Calderon at Goodyear. The Charles Goodyear Medal is the highest honor given out by the ACS Rubber Division.

Chris Robertson of Endurica presents the Fernley H. Banbury Award to Ken Nakajima of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, who accepted the honor remotely. Endurica is the sponsor of the award.
