MILWAUKEE - It has been roughly a week since FOX6 News first told you about a pair of twin brothers looking to gather donations to send to Texas. Now, their truck is full and ready to head south. But they are not the only ones locally sending supplies.
They are two separate groups with one common goal sending life-saving supplies to Austin, Texas. For us, it’s very important to not lose that sense of giving, said Franklin Pizarro, who collected donations for people in Austin.
When Jane Claire heard that a Wisconsin company wanted to send truckloads of water to her nonprofit organization in Texas, she thought it was a joke. I said this is great, but yeah right, we re not going to get two trucks of water from Wisconsin, Claire said.
Days later, the first truckload arrived, having traveled 1,200 miles from Century Springs bottling facility in Wauwatosa. That kind of generosity, especially from out of state, it s profound, Claire said.
Colleen Mayberry, the sales and marketing director for Century Springs, watched the news as hoards of water were getting delivered to Texas.
Wanting to help, she found an email for Claire online and asked what they needed.
