Despite a campaign of isolation by the United Workers Union, workers have taken an important stand, determined to secure a pay increase that enables them to survive crippling mortgage interest rates, soaring rents and energy prices.
A “no” vote is a critical first step, but to take their struggle forward, Pampas workers will need to take up a fight against the United Workers’ Union bureaucracy, which is working to impose a sell-out.
The endorsement by the pseudo-left of the wage-slashing deal at Pampas demonstrates their role as an adjunct and defender of the union bureaucracy and its attacks against workers.
