Diana, Princess of Wales will be honoured with a Blue Plaque at the flat she called home before her marriage to the Prince of Wales, becoming the first British royal to be commemorated by the scheme.
She lived with friends at Coleherne Court in South Kensington from 1979 to 1981 in a flat gifted by her mother as an 18th birthday present, before moving to Clarence House after her engagement to Charles

Diana, Princess of Wales will be honored with a blue plaque outside the west London flat where she lived before marrying Prince Charles, it has been announced.
English Heritage, which manages more than 400 historic houses and monuments, said it would erect the medallion in what would have been Diana s 60th year, after officials in London s local government body nominated her for commemoration.
It will be placed outside Coleherne Court, a block of apartments in Kensington where Diana lived with friends between 1979 and 1981, her brother Charles Spencer announced Thursday. Diana left her flat after becoming engaged to Prince Charles.

Earl Spencer described his sister’s first home as a “very happy place for Diana”, where she enjoyed a carefree period as a young woman living with girlfriends in Earl’s Court before marrying the Prince of Wales in 1981.
Charles Spencer shared a mocked-up image of the English Heritage “memorial tablet” in a tweet and a picture of the final piece being created.
