MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Bayshore Christian High School sophomore John Malone tossed a no-hitter in game two of the 2021 AHSAA Class 1A State Baseball Championship Series at Riverwalk Stadium Wednesday to even the series with Donoho, and he continued in the second game to hurl two more shutout innings as the Eagles (28-9) claimed the state title with the doubleheader sweep.
He was a master of his pitches in the 11-0 five-inning gem striking out right and facing just 16 batters overall. His only flaw was one hit batter. In the second game, an 18-0 win, he finally allowed a hit, a single by Nic Thompson, but left the game with the Eagles of Coach John Hauge leading 3-0.
