Branch County employees and covered dependents had health insurance again Friday morning after a number of them were told the county policy "had expired and was inactive" as of Aug. 31. A number, including one elected official, were denied services from ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital and other area medical providers this week after trying to receive.
Reporter/Shoppers Guide buildings for sale

Gannett Media Company, owner of the Coldwater Daily Reporter and the Shoppers Guide, has put both its buildings up for sale in the city as the newspaper industry changes.
The structure at 15 W. Pearl St., was built in 1948 to house both offices and the printing plant for the paper, founded as a weekly in 1896 by W. B Kitchell. Then it was housed in a three-story brick building across from Tibbits Opera House.
Owned by a series of corporation since 1956, it became part of the company which ultimately became Gatehouse Media in 2005.
