SALISBURY, Md. – Community leaders, organizations, and churches in Salisbury have worked together to give shelter to those with no home during the cold nights.
On Facebook, Martin Hutchinson thanked various organizations for extending help to the homeless population. Thursday night was their first of seven overnight shifts at the Cold Weather Emergency Center.
Martin says it would not have been possible without organizations such as the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and Beyond Your Walls Inc. for providing a warm shower and fresh clothes two nights a week. Because of that help, 24 unsheltered men got to sleep in a warm building and have access to three meals a day.
