Powered by one of the format’s greatest weekly airplay gains, Halsey’s “New Americana” rockets into alternative radio’s Top 40.
Spun 298 times during the July 19-25 tracking week (+128), the “Badlands” single grabs the #33 position on this week’s Mediabase alternative airplay chart. It was last week’s #44 song.
The song’s spin count bests last week’s mark by a healthy 128 plays. Among active alternative songs, only Cold War Kids’ #6 “First” (+240), Elle King’s #5 “Ex’s and Oh’s” (+225) and The Struts’ #10 “Could Have Been Me” (+150) enjoyed greater weekly gains (AWOLNATION’s #18 “I Am” enjoyed an equivalent one).
