Erstwhile 'verified' users have lost their free blue ticks after the social media platform’s owner Elon Musk introduced a new paid service called Twitter Blue. But how do you now tell a fake account from a genuine one?
To avoid the same impersonation issue on Twitter, the social media company will remove a user's blue checkmark for seven days if their display name is altered.
