so who is feeling the worst of this, jim? as far as the cold is concerned, right now this particular cold shot, at least today, that is into new england, where the core of the cold is really set up. really, all the way back into the midwest, staying brutal here today. jim dickey, thank you very much. one other measure of just how cold this winter has been. check this out. all five of the great lakes are freezing up. that s one-fifth of all the fresh water on the planet. alex perez reports from indiana. reporter: it looks more like the north pole than midwest. this endless pool of ice is lake michigan, captured by a camera on a drone flying high above. you can see it s massive. reporter: last year only 38% of the great lakes were frozen over. this year researchers predict the ice coverage to be almost double that for january and february. coast guard petty officer brad houston says the extra ice has kept them busy responding to calls all season. a lot of people will see
