Mass vaccination centres finally reopen after heavy snow MASS vaccination centres hit by heavy snow have finally reopened their doors. The mass vaccination centres at Colchester United s Jobserve Community Stadium and at Clacton Hospital told patients to stay away on Sunday due to the icy conditions created by Storm Darcy. The stadium site reopened its doors on Friday while Clacton Hospital, which was due to start on February 7, opened for the first time on Thursday. Essex Partnership University Trust (EPUT), which is running both sites, said patients who had their vaccinations cancelled over the past few days can rebook their appointment on the NHS national booking website or by calling 119.
People in the top four priority groups including people aged 70 years old and over, and those who are clinically extremely vulnerable, are being invited to book an appointment at the vaccination centres through the national booking service. The centres will also be vaccinating health and care staff who are being urged to get their first dose as soon as possible to protect themselves and others.

Chelmsford City Racecourse
The Cliffs Pavilion, Southend-on-Sea
Clacton Hospital

Chelmsford City Racecourse, in Great Leighs, is one of six mass vaccines centres opening in the east from today. Each centre can vaccine hundreds of people a day and thousands each week. The six new centres are among a series opening nationally this week as the NHS accelerates the number of sites which can distribute the first dose of the jab.
