Once the Prince Albert Raiders offence got rolling on Tuesday night, it was hard for the Regina Pats to slow them down. The Raiders scored four times in nearly five-and-a-half minutes during the second period of play as they would go on to pick up a 4-2 victory over the Pats at the Brandt Centre. “I thought that was one of our best team games so far here,” Raiders head coach Marc Habscheid said. “We’ve lost a key defenceman with Nolan Allan leaving (for the World Under-18’s) and I thought our young guys did a good job of stepping up on the blueline and moving the puck up the ice.”

Bedard records point in 11th straight game, but Pats fall 7-2 to Brandon

Regina / 980 CJME Apr 1, 2021 11:58 PM The Regina Pats lost to the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-2 inside the WHL Hub on April 1, 2020. (Keith Hershmiller Photography) Connor Bedard’s already-spectacular but short season will get even more minuscule with the Regina Pats. The 15-year-old rookie phenom will be joining the Canadian team for the IIHF under-18 world championship in Frisco, Texas. He is the only 2005-born player to get the call to the team. “It’s a dream come true. As a Canadian kid, you grow up with that dream of getting to wear a maple leaf and when I found out, I was very excited. It’s a super-special opportunity and that’s something I can’t wait for,” Bedard said following a 7-2 loss against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Thursday at the Brandt Centre.
