ORANGE, Calif. A gunman opened fire at an office building in the City of Orange Wednesday, killing four people and wounding a fifth. The shooter was also wounded, officials said. A child was among those found slain when officers responded to a report of shots being fired at 202 W. Lincoln Ave. around 5:30 p.m., said Lt. Jennifer Amat with the Orange Police Department.
The shooting was still active when officers arrived on scene at the two-story office building, Lt. Amat said, adding that at least one officer opened fire on the gunman. But Lt. Amat later said officials were still working to determine whether the suspect was shot by police, or if he sustained a self-inflicted wound, KTLA reported.
The gunman who killed four people and critically wounded a fifth at a Southern California office building knew all the victims and apparently before opening fire chained shut the gates to two entrances, delaying police from getting inside, authorities said Thursday.

ORANGE, Calif The gunman who killed four people and wounded a fifth at an office complex knew all the victims either through business or personally, Southern California police said Thursday.
Orange police Lt. Jennifer Amat also revealed that the gunman had chained gates to the complex closed, forcing officers who responded Wednesday to engage him from outside.
Police recovered an automatic handgun and a backpack with pepper spray, handcuffs and ammunition.

Four people, including a child, were shot and killed Wednesday evening at an office building in Southern California, police said.
It is the third such shooting in the United States in weeks, with 18 people killed in two separate gun violence incidents in March.
The shooter, whose motivations are so far unknown, sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital, police lieutenant Jennifer Amat said, adding the suspect was in a critical condition.
