For the search for flight 370. Ships and planes are moving away from the area that had been the center of the search for several days. Theyre now looking closer to australia as the investigation enters its third week. Abcs Nikki Battiste filed this report from perth, australia. Reporter there is once again a new lead. Said to be the most credible yet in the search for missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370. New Data Analysis moved todays search nearly 700 miles northeast. Thats back to the original search area and it seems back to square one. With news of this latest lead todays recovery operation completely shifted its course. The search area changed based on continuing analysis of radar data before contact was lost. It indicates the aircraft was traveling faster than previously estimated resulting in increased fuel usage and reducing the possible distance it traveled south into the indian ocean.
